Year 6 Computing

Welcome To Year 6 Computing

Computational Thinking. Problem Solving. Digital Literacy. Information Technology. Computer Science

In this unit, the children will be researching about different Mobile Phones and Apps that can be installed and used on these devices.

At the Church of England School of the Resurrection, we place great importance on preparing our children for the 21st Century.  Technology is used in most jobs and professions and this is why Computing and IT hold great importance for this generation.  We place great importance in preparing our Year 6 children for the transition to High School next year.  This is why we have introduced our Year 6 children to Progress/Project Diaries that your children may encounter - in a similar format - when they attend High School.  Progress Diaries enable pupils to develop key skills with a vast array of Office software and teach them key keyboard shortcuts for example; copying and pasting using ctrl + v (windows keyboard) or cmd + v (mac keyboard).

Please find above an example of a Year 6 Progress Diary.  It is great to see the children developing their confidence and independence when using Office software.  The children are learning about how to format and present their Powerpoints for maximum impact.
