In this unit, the children started by analysing and playing educational games, identifying those features that make a game successful.  They then plan, design and write their own games, with a clear target audience in mind.  They create a working prototype and then develop it further.  They test their game and make any necessary changes.

 Scratch -Game Development

In order to produce the game, the children will be using an online platform/software package called Scratch. Scratch is a visual programming language that makes use of blocks to allow children to produce:

  • Animations
  • Games
  • Interactive Stories

To the right is an example of a Scratch Times Table game that the children have edited and developed further from the Scratch website
