Belong, Believe, Achieve
The School Council play a vital role in our school in representing the views of the children. At the start of the school year the children are given the opportunity to put themselves forward for School Council. Each class then get to vote for two candidates from their class, the two elected children are rewarded with a badge and a place on the School Council.
The School Council meet once a fortnight and are supported by Mrs Urmston.
This year we have really been thinking about trying to make a difference in school and the wider community. In November we held our first 'Something Spotty' day and sold merchandise for Children in Need. The School Council we delighted to have raised £245.50, which is an excellent achievement.
The council have worked on a new child friendly Anti-Bullying booklet to inform children in school how to deal with bullies and what to do if they need help. This is something all the children are very passionate about. The booklet can be found on our Policies page. As well as this the children have written a new set of rules for the playground that is displayed for all the children to see.
Later in the term the children will be running some fundraising events across the school to support our adopted child form Uganda, Sulaina.
